MEET NETWORK WIRING.
Did you know that network wiring
utilizes some and sometimes all of the following cables:
unshielded twisted pair (UTP), shielded twisted pair (STP),
coaxial, triaxial, and fiber optic? Or that RJ-45
connectors are designated as category 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6
cables? Well then, I’m sure you’re well aware that
category 5 or 6 cables can be used with either 10BaseT or
100BaseT Ethernet and that other Ethernet types include 10Base2,
10BaseFL, 100BaseTX, and 100BaseFX. And for heaven’s sake,
when installing 1000BaseT, 100BaseLX, and 1000BaseSX, be careful
to adhere to IEEE specifications for Gigabit Ethernet over
copper wire. Huh? Some people know this stuff like
the back of their hand. If you’re not one of those people,
